Steve Miller's fascination with rocks began more than 15 years ago. He has been collecting rocks and perfecting the art of making cabochons for more than a decade and has traveled the country in pursuit of rocks. His interest in rockhounding has expanded to include the art of stone inlay with a penchant for knife inlay. In this workshop he will share his passion for the lapidary arts with his students as they create a one of a kind stone inlay chef's knife.
*The price of this workshop does not include a $65 kit fee which will be paid directly to the instructor at the time of the workshop. The kit will include a Damascus steel knife blank and slabs to choose from (more may be purchased, including additional slabs as desired), plus necessary consumable materials for completing the knife handle. Studio JSD provides basic hand tools at each student bench as well as specialty equipment for finishing stone. Plan to bring slabs of your favorite stones or purchase some from our collection!
*This is a two day workshop, three hours on the first day and seven hours on the following day.
*Students must have prior lapidary equipment experience to take this workshop.

Cancellation Policy: Classes and workshops are fully refundable (minus a $15 processing fee) with a minimum 48 hours notice. Cancellations received later than 48 hours prior to class meeting will not receive a refund. We will NOT issue a refund if you do not show to your class.
Workshops and classes are for students 18 and up. Minors can register with prior approval from the instructor and with parental consent.
