This class will focus on creating beyond cabochons. Students will be introduced to intarsia in the form of a Zuni Sunface. Students will learn to make doublets and triplets, and learn to create stone cones. This class will cover drilling into stones using diamond core bits, fitting concave stones with convex stones, and performing chip-and-synthetic crushed opal inlay into stones. Alternate cabs will be created using dried natural items, like butterfly or dragonfly wings, etc, and other materials like synthetic Dichro material or carbon fiber. Stabilization, custom tinting, and a little hand-carving will also be covered. The class fee is $475, which includes all necessary materials and supplies, as well as access to all required shop tools.

Visiting Artist Policies: Full refunds -$35 administrative fee will be given if cancellations are received up to 60 days prior to the workshop date. Due to prior artist travel arrangements and class material purchases, cancellations after that date can only be reimbursed if we can fill your seat.
Workshops and classes are for students 18 and up. Minors can register with prior approval and parental consent.
