This workshop is an exploration of form and function, paired with skill refinement and material fluency, through the creation of purposeful and decorative functional objects.

Diving deep into techniques of forging,  forming, planishing, and assembly by cold construction, students make an assortment of hand wrought practical utilitarian items: cocktail pick, olive fork, tomato spear, cheese knife, mustard spoon, pudding trowel, and letter opener, with copper, brass, and bronze.

Basic metalsmithing experience is required.

All current classes are in-person at our Grand Haven, Michigan Studio. When purchasing online, please choose "Pick-up" as your shipping option.

Visiting Artist Policies: Refunds (-$35 administrative fee) will be given if cancellations are received up to 60 days prior to the workshop date. Due to prior artist travel arrangements and class material purchases, cancellations after that date can only be reimbursed if we can fill your seat.

Workshops and classes are for students 18 and up. Minors can register with prior approval and parental consent.

A metals kit is included in the class fee. Students will receive a recommended tool and supply list prior to class.
