This two day intensive applied technique workshop focuses on transformative sculpture with the most basic  tool – the goldsmith's hammer! Work alongside a master goldsmith and cultivate a new range of expression as you learn the subtleties and finesse of hammer on metal.

An endless creative body of work can spring forth from the vocabulary acquired in this  session. You'll develop a lasting resource for dynamic design by forging a visual reference library of sculptural forms, articulated as traditional and contemporary artistic rings.

Workshop instruction covers preparation of hammers,  proper use of tools for forging, forming, bending, shaping, cold working, hardening and annealing precious metal.

Practical exercises are fabricated in copper and final projects in silver.

Basic metalsmithing experience is required.

All current classes are in-person at our Grand Haven, Michigan Studio. When purchasing online, please choose "Pick-up" as your shipping option.
