Studio JSD-Tucson Experience Information


You requested it and we plan to deliver!! Join veteran shopper Julie Sanford of Studio JSD (and a few other kindred rockhounds and makers) for a fun 3-night 2-day shopping excursion in sunny Tucson during the 2023 gem shows! This trip will include accommodations in a spacious Tucson home, transportation and guided shopping tailored to your specific needs.

Imagine... the best of Tucson shopping, all our favorite shows, without the burden of planning where to go or what to see!

In order to provide the best experience for everyone, space will be very limited. We’ve listed some of the details below and ask that you answer a few questions on the registration form to let us know you are still interested in joining the fun.

The trip cost will include:

  1. Accommodations in a lovely Tucson home from Tuesday evening, Jan. 31 (check in at 4pm) thru Friday morning, Feb. 3 (check out by 11am) Access to full kitchen, dining/living areas, shared bathrooms, outside seating, grill, hot tub, washer/dryer and private or shared bedroom.

  2. Airport drop off and pick up, depending on time, not guaranteed

  3. Transportation to the shows in shared mini-van, parking fees

  4. Guided shopping all day Wednesday and Thursday 9am-6pm with stops based on your interests

  5. Registration assistance for trade show entry

  6. Side stops for groceries, take out and incidentals as needed, when possible

  7. Tips and tricks to make the most out of your gem show shopping trip!

Does not include:

  1. Transportation to Tucson (or in Tucson before check-in or after check-out times)

  2. Food and drinks

  3. Trip insurance


  • $950pp-Single occupancy in queen bed

  • $750pp-Double occupancy in queen bed (you must specify a travel partner)

    We have 2 private queen rooms and one extra-large, double queen room to fill and can comfortably accommodate up to 8.

    To provide the most educational, efficient and fun experience for all, only kind, cooperative and positive attitudes should apply. You should be prompt and attentive to the schedules. We also want to mention that shopping can be physically demanding with lots of walking, standing and shopping over low tables. There are often places to stop and rest, and we can separate and regroup as necessary but please keep these things in mind as you consider registration.
