In October 2018 we welcomed a brand new Visiting Artist to Studio JSD--David Barnhill!
We were so honored to host internationally recognized artist and instructor David Barnhill, following his collaborative series with David Huang, Layered Resplendence at the Muskegon Museum of Art!
David Barnhill works as an artist/engineer/metallurgist with a passion for mokume which he began researching and creating in 1999. David creates mokume using a variety of processes ranging from traditional liquid phase to solid state diffusion bonding and beyond. Barnhill is currently researching two new methods for fusing along side collaborator Richard Furrer [Master Sword Maker and Blacksmith]. Many of Barnhill's past mokume successes can be viewed within the Layered Resplendence Series with fellow artist David Huang.
